Gunnison National Forest

For those runners, crew and spectators that enjoy camping, your options are endless. There are numerous established campgrounds in the National Forest that allow tent and RV camping for a small fee, many of which are near the course and aid stations. In addition to the established campgrounds, there are hundreds if not thousands of dispersed camp sites along practically every dirt and gravel road in the National Forest that you can camp at for free.

If you want to follow your runner from aid station to aid station and have a different place to camp at each night you have that ability as there are either campgrounds or dispersed camp sites within a mile of every aid station or most times closer. For more information on the campgrounds in the Gunnison National Forest click here. For information on dispersed camping the in the National Forest click here.
