Local Weather Forecasts

200 Miles is a long distance and when you add in the unpredictable mountain weather you are guaranteed to see different weather conditions throughout your race.  For your benefit, we have a weather forecast app below that you can use to see the local weather forecasts.  Keep in mind that just because it is nice at the aid station does not mean when you get to the top of the next mountain pass it will be the same.

Toggle Through Different Course Locations:

If you want to see what the weather conditions are like on different sections of the course you can through the weather forecast app to the left.  Just type in the location in the box at the bottom of the forcast app and click the GO button and the forecast will change to that location. Some of the areas you should check out are below.

  • Almont, Colorado

  • Crested Butte, Colorado

Temperature Changes as Elevation Increases:

The average high temperature in July for the lower elevations that the course goes through is 77 degrees Fahrenheit with the average low being 44 degrees Fahrenheit.  Keep in mind that as you increase elevation the temperature will decrease anywhere from 3-5 degrees per 1,000 feet depending on the humidity.  The dryer the conditions are, the faster the temperature will decrease as you increase elevation.
