Qualifying

All entrants must meet the race qualifying standards and service requirements to be able to race.  Runners can register for the race prior to meeting these requirements, however, they must complete these requirements by May 1, 2015.  During the registration process, you will need to note when you intend to have your qualifier completed if you do not meet the qualifying standards at that time.  Entrants that do not have the qualifying standards and/or service requirements met and turned into the race organizers by May 1, 2015 will not be able to race.

Qualifying races must be running events and completed between August 1, 2013 and May 1, 2015.  Stage races are not eligible for our qualifying standards.  Runners must meet at least one of the qualifying standards for the Colorado 200 Mile Endurance Run listed below.

1) Finished one or more 100 mile mountain trail races under the official race cut off time limit.  A race qualifies as a 100 mile mountain trail race if it has more than 30,000 feet combined elevation gain/loss.

2) Finished one or more 100 mile races under 28 hours.  A 100 mile race falls into this category if it has less than 30,000 feet combined elevation gain/loss.

3) Complete at least 100 miles during a 24-hour timed event.

Race organizers must be able to verify your qualifier for you to meet the qualifying standards.  Therefore, we will need to know the name of the race, date completed, your finish time, race director contact information, race website link and total elevation gain/loss of the race.  Any incomplete submissions will be disregarded.

In addition to the qualifying standards, the Colorado 200 has a MANDATORY service requirement for all runners.  Runners can fulfill their service requirement in one of the following ways:

  • 8 hours of trail work

  • Volunteering at a trail race.  Minimum requirement under this option is the lesser of 8 hours or the duration of the event.

  • Organization of a trail race

The service requirements must be completed during the 12 month period prior to the date forms are due to race organizers. Runners must complete the Runner Service Requirement Form and submit the form to race organizers by June 30, 2015.  Any incomplete form submissions will be disregarded and the runner will not be able to race unless a complete form is submitted by the applicable deadline.
